From September 5 to 6, 2012, the 54th Seminar of the Technological Science Forum “Frontiers and Challenges of Control Science” was held at the Student Activity Center of Northeastern University. The event was sponsored by the Academic Division of Information Technical Sciences and of Technological Sciences of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and held by Northeastern University and Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Professor Chen Hong from our college attended the conference on invitation and gave a theme report on “Opportunities and Challenges of Automobile Control”. Also invited to the conference was Professor Ma Yan from CCE.
The forum was attended by academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Bao Weimin, Chen Hanfu, Huang Lin, Li Tian, Xu Zongben, and Zhong Wanxie; academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Wang Tianran, Wang Zicai, Wu Cheng, etc.; and experts from universities and research institutes across the country. Exchanges and discussions around frontier and hot issues on the development of control science were held, which actively explored and gave birth to new academic ideas. In this two-day seminar, 11 academicians and experts from universities and research institutes across the country have given wonderful academic reports. The forum was of high academic standard and level. It has provided a valuable learning opportunity for CCE to construct its control discipline, exerting a positive impact on its future development.
